The unit (1'') has a cutting chain (3'') comprising a set of links, where each link extends from each of two joints in a direction perpendicular to an ideal line at a height on a side located adjacent to a chain guide rail (5'') and another height on another side located far away from the guide rail. A part of outer edges of the rail is inserted into a sliding recess formed along a set of portions of the chain in a transverse direction of the chain. The first height is larger than or equal to 90 percentages of the second height in correspondence with the sliding recess.
