The method involves controlling devices of a vehicle (1) during detection of accident of the vehicle by an emergency device (2). An image detection unit (2.2) is activated for detecting images of surrounding of the vehicle after the accident of the vehicle. The detected images are outputted in an inner area of the vehicle by a display unit (2.3). An exterior lighting of the vehicle is activated after the accident, and characteristics of the environment and/or the position of the vehicle are determined from the detected images and/or from data of a navigation device (2.4) of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for an emergency device for a vehicle.
