Translation regions are formed in a region of a variator (3), and a gear change unit (7) is coupled with the variator in the region, where translation is executed as stepless variable translation within the regions by the variator. A rotational torque determination unit (42) is arranged in a power path between the variator and the gear device and determines current rotational torque in the path, where rotation speed of the gear device is determined based on the translation in the region of the variator. The variator is designed as a hydrostatic device.
