<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that, even if a jammed paper sheet is present in such a position as not to be detected by paper sensors, allows removal thereof to be detected at timing at which the jammed paper sheet is removed. <P>SOLUTION: In order for a user to take out a jammed paper sheet P1, the jammed paper sheet P1 is pulled obliquely forward in the conveyance direction. Then, a conveyance roller R1 rotates due to a friction force between the jammed paper sheet P1 and the conveyance roller R1. On the basis of output pulses of a rotary encoder mounted on the conveyance roller R1 or an electromotive force of a motor, a rotation direction and a rotation amount of the conveying roller R1 are detected and thereby, it can be detected in real time at door opening state timing at which the jammed paper sheet P1 is removed that the jammed paper sheet P1 present between paper sensors Sn1 and Sn2 is removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
