PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the thermal efficiency of a rotary piston engine by restraining combustion delay of an leanized air-fuel mixture, restraining combustion delay of a trailing side air-fuel mixture derived from squish flow for reducing cooling loss and restraining an increase in exhaust loss.
SOLUTION: The rotary piston engine has an air-fuel mixture leaner than a theoretical air-fuel ratio burned in a combustion process. A turbulence producing member 51 is provided in a recess 2b formed on an outer peripheral surface 2a of a rotor 2. A trailing-side ignition plug 22 is disposed at a position away from the short axis Z (L/2) or more with a premise that the length of the trailing-side combustion chamber from a short axis Z to the trailing-side apex of the rotor 2 of the compression top is L.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
