BACKLIGHT MODULE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

A backlight module comprises a light guide plate (23) and a light source (24). The light guide plate (23) comprises a lateral incidence surface (231), an emergent surface (233) connected to the lateral incidence surface (231), and a bottom surface (232) facing the emergent surface (233). The light source (24) comprises a light emitting surface (241). The light source (24) is disposed at a side of lateral incidence surface (231) of the light guide plate. The light emitting surface (241) of the light source (24) faces the lateral incidence surface (231) of the light guide plate (23). The backlight module further comprises a diffusing bar (27). The diffusing bar (27) is disposed between the lateral incidence surface (231) of the light guide plate (23) and the light emitting surface (241) of the light source (24). A light ray emitted from the light emitting surface (241) of the light source (24) is diffused by the diffusing bar (27) and then enters the light guide plate (23). Also provided is a liquid crystal display. The backlight module can solve the bright spot problem.
