<p>A lip seal made of a rubberlike elastic body, which slides against a shaft that rotates relative to a housing, the lip seal being fixed to the housing, which is the fixed side, wherein the lip seal is a lip seal for a water pump and is obtained by vulcanization molding of a rubber composition obtained by mixing 1-150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5-90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of at least 1 µm, 0.1-5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1-15 parts by weight of a cross-linking agent, and 0.5-10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide per 100 parts by weight of the rubberlike elastic body. This lip seal for a water pump achieves the purpose of the present invention not by a structural means, but by a material means whereby flexibility and volume swelling of the rubberlike elastic body, which cause problems which rotational torque and LLC resistance, are overcome, and deposition on the rotating shaft can also be prevented.</p> |
