The systems currently used to generate electricity from the potential and kinetic energy in liquids do so by bringing the liquids into direct contact with the mechanical elements of the electric generators, which accelerates wear in relation to said elements when the liquid is abrasive or corrosive, such as in the case of mining effluents, and it is for this reason that the energy in said effluents is not currently recovered. The field of application of the invention is preferably the harnessing of energy from mining flows, since the aforementioned inconvenience has been remedied using an intermediate element between the abrasive and/or corrosive liquid and the mechanical elements of the machines being used to generate electricity with liquid means. For this purpose, the invention uses one or more pairs of tanks that are filled and emptied in a controlled, alternating manner, without interrupting the main flow, such that an intermediate element rotates an electric generator or turbine, either by means of the movement of a fluid, the rise and fall of a mechanical element by flotation, or the rise and fall of bellows connected to a crank lever. Consequently, the working life of electricity generating machines can be substantially increased and energy contained in mining effluents and other liquids can be recovered.
|
