The carrier has upper and lower belts (5, 6) that are connected over rods (1, 2), where the rods are made from a fiber-reinforced plastic layer (3). A sandwich structure (4) is connected with the plastic layer and made from material having smaller strength than the plastic layer. The plastic layer is connected with the upper and lower belts such that a shear panel is formed in the plastic layer during loading of the carrier. The upper and lower belts are designed as U-profiles. A metal foam layer (8) is formed between the belts and the plastic layer and made from aluminum or aluminum alloy.
