PURPOSE: A button-type gear operating mechanism is provided to save the installation space by having a center fascia in the interior of a vehicle and to allow a driver to operate at the optimal position as the center fascia is tilted, if necessary. CONSTITUTION: A button-type gear operating mechanism comprises a control panel(10) and an angle control unit. The control panel comprises multiple transmission buttons(11r,11n,11d) which are electrically connected to a TCU of a vehicle. One side of the control panel is hinge-connected to a center fascia(1) to be rotatably installed. The angle control unit tilts the control panel and comprises a slider(22), a link member(21), and a linear motor(23). The slider is arranged in the rear surface of the control panel. One end of the link member is hinge-connected to the center fascia, and the other end thereof is slidingly installed in the slider. The linear motor connects an operational rod to one side of the rear surface of the control panel.
