<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which, since waste paper, dust and the like are produced accompanied by the transport operation, cutting operation or the like of paper, the waste paper, the dust and the like adhere to a platen roller, whereby the deterioration of a paper transport force or print quality is not influenced. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 101 includes: a print head 112 performing printing on paper; a print control part for controlling print operation executed by the print head 112; a platen roller 104 arranged oppositely to the print head 112 through a transport path through which the paper is transported for transporting the paper by being rotationally driven; an abutting member 110 arranged on the transport path and at a position capable of abutting on the platen roller 104; and a drive mechanism for driving the abutting member 110 in either a first direction being a direction in which the abutting member abuts on the platen roller 104, or a second direction being a direction in which the abutting member separates from the platen roller 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
