Provided is a developer carrier, which is capable of stably providing even a negatively chargeable developer with a frictional charge, and the surface of which is not susceptible to wear even after a long-term use. The developer carrier comprises a base and a surface layer, and the surface layer contains a matrix resin and conductive particles. The matrix resin contains a crosslinked product of a polymer chain that has units represented by structural formula (1) and structural formula (2) and a polymer chain that is represented by structural formula (3).
