PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest a dot pattern formation medium capable of defining code information and XY coordinate information even in a minimum region.

SOLUTION: The dot pattern includes: a prescribed number of dots arranged horizontally at equal intervals; a prescribed number of dots arranged vertically at equal intervals from the dots located at endpoints of the dots arranged horizontally; and an information dots in which intersections between vertical lines virtually set from the dots arranged horizontally and horizontal lines virtually set horizontally from the dots arranged vertically are specified as lattice points and data content is defined by how deviated from the lattice points. One of the dots arranged vertically means the direction of the dot pattern by how deviated from the original positions of the dots.
