PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external input device that converts resolution of display data on the basis of resolution of a display device of an own apparatus and resolution of a display device of a communication terminal so as to reduce load of resolution conversion processing of the communication terminal.

SOLUTION: A communication system includes: resolution conversion means for converting resolution of display data on the basis of first resolution information received by resolution information reception means and second resolution information indicating resolution of a display device of an external input device; and display data transmission means for transmitting display data, resolution of which has been converted by the resolution conversion means to a communication terminal for allowing the communication terminal to transmit the converted display data to another communication terminal.
