<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell that both improves the resistance of a catalytic metal to solubility and reduces internal resistance of the membrane electrode assembly. <P>SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly has an electrode catalyst layer including two or more kinds of solid polymer electrolytes with different acid dissociation constants. A solid polymer electrolyte with lower acid strength is used to coat the surfaces of catalyst particles, and a solid polymer electrolyte with higher acid strength is placed around the solid polymer electrolyte with lower acid strength. Thus, the membrane electrode assembly achieves both the resistance of a catalyst metal to solubility and ionic conductivity in the electrode catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
