<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety of an operator to the blade without causing decrease in the rigidity and decrease in the positioning accuracy even when the opening and closing part is opened. <P>SOLUTION: A printer (printing apparatus) 1 includes: a platen roller 111 that transports roll paper S; a thermal line head 112 that performs desired print to the roll paper S; an outlet 107 to discharge the printed roll paper S; a fixed blade 160 that is fixed to a unit housing 190 along the edge of the outlet 107; and a fixed blade cover 170 that is integrally incorporated into a head unit HU and covers the blade edge of the fixed blade 160. The head unit HU is supported in a displaceable manner relative to the unit housing 190 so that when the opening and closing part 101B becomes an open state, the fixed blade cover 170 becomes a first state to cover the blade edge of the fixed blade 160, and when the opening and closing part 101B becomes a closed state, the fixed blade cover 170 becomes a second state not to cover the blade edge of the fixed blade 160. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
