PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station which can enhance reception quality in a mobile station in performing downlink communication with different frequency bands by a plurality of antennas.

SOLUTION: A base station 100 communicates with a mobile station 300 by at least either a communication method simultaneously using a plurality of frequencies or a communication method using one frequency among the plurality of frequencies. The base station 100 comprises: a DL transmission mode determination unit which determines whether to use a first transmission mode transmitting different information by simultaneously using the plurality of frequencies or a second transmission mode transmitting the same information by simultaneously using the plurality of frequencies, on the basis of communication with the mobile station; and a transmission processing unit for performing downlink transmission for the mobile station 300 by the determined transmission mode.
