The bumper (4) has a bumper cross beam supported and/or attached at a body of a vehicle (1). A deformation element runs along vehicle transverse direction, and is arranged between the bumper cross beam and a bumper lining in a form of impact energy of an absorbing foamed body. The foamed body comprises two face surfaces pointing to the bumper lining and the bumper cross beam, respectively. The foamed body is provided with a longitudinal slot running along vehicle transverse direction in a region of one of the face surfaces pointing to the bumper lining.
