<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibrated artifact for calibrating an articulating probe head. <P>SOLUTION: A calibrated artifact 100 for calibrating an articulating probe head when the articulating probe head is attached to an arm of a coordinate positioning apparatus comprises: a plurality of profiles 102, 104, 106 with different sizes which can be scanned by performing articulating operation of the articulating probe head relative to the arm of the coordinate positioning apparatus; and indexing devices for changing orientations of the profiles 102, 104, 106 so as to direct the profiles 102, 104, 106 along different directions of the coordinate positioning apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
