The present invention provides a method for producing a structure having a well-ordered fine structure (a phase-separated fine structure having a regular pattern structure) directly and in a simple manner utilizing the self-assembly of a block copolymer and the phase separation in a solution. This phase-separated fine structure having a regular pattern structure is produced by: mixing a block copolymer comprising an uncharged hydrophilic polymer chain segment and an anionic polymer chain segment with a polymer comprising a cationic polymer chain segment in an aqueous solvent, or mixing a block copolymer comprising an uncharged hydrophilic polymer chain segment and a cationic polymer chain segment with a polymer comprising an anionic polymer chain segment in an aqueous solvent; and, subsequent to the mixing or during the mixing, adding a salt compound to the solvent.
