The bearing unit has a first flange connected to the rotating part of the unit, for the brake disk and rim, and a second flange (3) with first fixing apertures (7) for the brake saddle and its carrier and second ones (9) for the wheel carrier. The fixing apertures in the second flange are arranged relative to the axis of symmetry (10) so that they can be used on either side of the vehicle, and to create a region (11) of higher rigidity.
