The inverter (1) has a direct current-direct current (DC-DC) converter circuit part (3) connected to a battery (2) for generating alternating current-output voltage from battery voltage of the battery during discharging operation and for charging the battery in a charging operation. The circuit part has a high frequency-transformer (4), and a direct current-alternating current converter circuit part (5) is arranged downstream of the DC-DC part. The circuit parts are directly connected, and the DC-DC part has asymmetrically controlled semiconductor elements (11-18) and a power throttle (6). The transformer is made from nanocrystalline material or Nanoperm(RTM: rapidly quenched iron based alloy) material.
