The arrangement (A) has a contoured body (CB) for changing the flow direction of water jet (WJ), where a finished through hole (H) has a shape differing from a cylindrical form. A water jet machine (WJM) is placed on a one side (S1) of a wall (W), where the finished thorough hole extends from one side to another side (S2) along a central axis. The contoured body is arranged in such a way that the body is hit directly by the water jet, and is shaped such that a target shape (TC) is attained by the reflected or deviated water jet. An independent claim is included for a method for producing or processing a through hole extending through a thickness of a wall of a solid body by using an arrangement.
