<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cancer therapeutic agent by a new therapeutic mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The cancer therapeutic agent treats a cancer and includes at least one of a material to inhibit uptake of a choline by a choline transporter and a material to inhibit expression of the choline transporter. The material to inhibit uptake of the choline is preferably a material to inhibit uptake of the choline by a competitive antagonism to the choline, and in this case an organic cationic compound is more preferable. The material inhibiting expression of the choline transporter is preferably siRNA to inhibit expression of mRNA of the choline transporter by RNA interference.
