PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a compound semiconductor particle reduced in carbon concentration.

SOLUTION: In a method for producing a compound semiconductor particle of the present invention, at least one metal simple substance and/or metal compound (A) including all constituent metal elements of a final composition is chemically reacted under the presence of an ammonia solvent (B) comprising ammonia or a liquid solvent including ammonia dissolved therein in a supercritical fluid state. The at least one metal simple substance and/or metal compound (A) is preferably reacted under heating and pressurizing in an atmosphere containing ammonia gas.
