<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic attachment to be used by being attached to a probe. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe 11 has an ultrasonic detector 22 that includes one or more detector elements. An attachment 14 is a photoacoustic attachment to be attached to the ultrasonic probe 11. The attachment 14 has a light guide member 41 that includes, for instance, a waveguide 42 and a light guide plate 43. The light guide member 41 guides light to be radiated to a subject to be inspected, and radiates the guided light toward the subject from a light output surface of the ultrasonic probe 11, the light output surface facing the ultrasonic detection surface of the ultrasonic probe. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
