<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a tool for use in high-speed machining of difficult-to-machine materials such as hardened steel, heat-resistant alloy and difficult-to-machine cast iron by devising cooling structure of an ultra-high pressure sintered tool having an oil feed hole inside a flank face, which has a CBN sintered body or a diamond sintered body at the cutting edge at the least, and to improve machined surface quality by suppressing the generation of a work-affected layer. <P>SOLUTION: The ultra-high pressure sintered tool has: an ultra-high pressure sintered body 4 composed of the CBN sintered body or the diamond sintered body in the corner part of a super-hard base material; and the cutting edge 5 formed on the ultra-high pressure sintered 4. A spout 6b is arranged at the tip of the oil feed hole 6 opened to the flank face 8 just under the corner part of the cutting edge. The distance between the spout 6b of the oil feed hole and the cutting edge 5 is set within 0.3-3 mm and the tilt angle of the spout with respect to the flank face 8 is set within 20-70°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
