A vaginal cup comprises a cup-shaped container 13 having an upwardly facing mouth 14, two sets of pairs of parallel sealing lips, the first pair 18 and 19 extending radially outwards and tapering downwards, the second pair 20 and 21 extending radially outwards and tapering upwards. The cup contains another upwardly extending lip 24 and an elongated loop 40 extending downwards from the bottom of the cup. The cup is made from a partially water-soluble material. An inserter 12 (see fig. 4) comprises elongated members 54 and 55 extending from a gripping portion 50 and joined at their opposite ends by a hinge member 57. A sliding collar 46 is mounted upon the elongated members and has an extended elongated portion 69, the collar 46 closes members 54 and 55 to grip the container 13 adjacent the hinge member 57. |
