PURPOSE: A genetic polymorphic marker of neuropeptide Y and a use thereof are provided to effectively determine whether or not a stroke patient has dampness-phlegm. CONSTITUTION: A marker for classification of stroke with dampness-phlegm containing a polypeptide or a complementary polypeptide thereof with 20-100 continuous DNA sequences containing 27th base which is C or T. A kit for classification of stroke with dampness-phlegm contains a probe or a primer pair for detecting the marker. The primer pair has base sequences of sequence numbers 6 and 7.
