Such a container according to the invention comprises a detection device, in order to determine information about the holding condition and/or the fill level of the container. The detection device is able to detect differing light intensities in the region of the inner walls of the container and to generate corresponding sensor signals. Furthermore, an interface for connecting to a signal processing device is provided, in which image information about the fill level and/or holding condition of the container is generated on the basis of the sensor signals.
