IMAGING APPARATUS AND IMAGING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which obtains a high-definition image by using a low-cost imaging element of a low pixel density.

SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element 21 imaging a subject 5; a light-shielding film 26 formed on a light-receiving surface of the imaging element 21; a drive part 3 moving the imaging element 21 in a stepwise fashion to a plurality of imaging positions each displaced from another by a unit smaller than one pixel; a storage part 7 acquiring imaging information obtained by imaging of the imaging element 21; and a control part 4 calculating pixel information of the subject 5 by a unit smaller than one pixel on the basis of a difference in the imaging information calculated at each imaging position. The storage part 7 stores the calculated pixel information in association with a position of the subject.
