The electric charging system has battery module (10) with an inner thermally conductive material, and charging station with a cooling system (12). The thermally conductive material of the battery module and the cooling system are thermally coupled to each other via heat exchanger. The two components (22,24) are positively connected with each other to form a heat exchanger, to provide mechanical interface between cooling system and thermally conductive material of the battery module. The lithium ion cells (16) are provided in battery module. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) battery module; and (2) charging station for battery module.
