<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper that enables a compact speaker size and enhanced speaker performance. <P>SOLUTION: A damper 100 has a substantially elliptical shape and can be used in an elongated speaker. The damper 100 includes an inner circumferential portion 110, an outer circumferential portion 120, and corrugations 130 connecting the inner circumferential portion 110 and the outer circumferential portion 120. The corrugations 130 include a plurality of crest portions 131a, 131b, 131c, 131d and trough portions 141a, 141b, 141c. The corrugations 130 in minor axis regions 150 and the corrugations 130 in major axis regions 160 have substantially the same overall length. The first crest portion 131a nearer to the inner circumferential portion 110 has a circular shape substantially similar to an outer circumferential shape of a voice coil bobbin in a plan view. The first crest portion 131a has a substantially constant height. Despite the elliptical shape, the damper 100 can have substantially the same amplitude over the major axis regions 160 and the minor axis regions 150. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
