The invention enables mass production without shortening the life of a press-fitted member even while the strength of the connection between the tool body and a connecting member is improved. An exchangeable head cutting tool in which a tool body (1A), which is obtained from a hard material, and a connecting member (2) are joined by inserting a cylindrical mounting part (21) of the connecting member (2), which is obtained from a metal material that is not as hard as the hard material, into a mounting hole (16) that is formed in the tool body (1A) and has recessed sections (16a) on the inner circumferential surface, and by plastically deforming said mounting part (21) so that the diameter expands in order to closely fit the outer circumferential surface of the mounting part (21) to the inner circumferential surface of the mounting hole (16) and engage same with the recessed sections (16a). On the inner circumference of the mounting part (21), a diameter-expanding member (4) that is harder than the connecting member (2) is press-fitted and fixed and the mounting part (21) is plastically deformed by said diameter-expanding member (4). |
