The looping tool (1) has strip-shaped and flexible feed-through portion (11) and a plug-side end for receiving a connector plug (2). A mounting device (12) having two receiving jaws (15) with opposed latching devices, is arranged at the plug-side end. The latching devices interlock with locking element of the connector. The locking device has a respective insertion groove (14) having detent rounded section (18) at closed end. An independent claim is included for method for looping through connector component.
