The vehicle (1) has an energy storage unit (2) i.e. hydrogen tank, firmly installed in the vehicle. A back-up energy storage unit (4) is matched with type of the energy storage unit and another energy storage unit (3) i.e. battery, where storage capacity of the back-up energy storage unit is smaller than storage capacities of the two energy storage units. The back-up energy storage unit is interchangeable and removable from the vehicle. The former energy storage unit and the back-up energy storage unit are connected with each other over a valve and a pressure reduction device. The back-up energy storage unit is designed as a back-up hydrogen tank or a back-up battery e.g. high voltage (HV) battery or a low voltage (LV) battery.
