The system has a drive shaft (IS) receiving rotational torque of a motor (ENG). An output wheel (OG) is connected with a first rotary element of a planetary gear set (PG2). A clutch (CL1) connects a rotary element of another planetary gear set (PG1) optionally with a second rotary element of the former planetary gear set. Two brakes (BK1, BK2) are arranged between the second rotary element and a third rotary element of the former planetary gear set and a gear housing (H), respectively. The former planetary gear set is connected with a motor generator (MG2). The motor generator is operated as a motor and/or a generator.
