<p>According to this image capture unit, a distance image information generating unit (52) generates distance image information on the basis of three-dimensional information of a stamped text character face (10A) and a symbol "N1" of a tire (10) from a three-dimensional measurement processing unit (51) according to the distance between the stamped text character face (10A) and the symbol "N1" and a stereo camera unit (1) in the direction (the z-axis direction) from the stereo camera unit (1) to the tire (10). A differential processing unit (53) differentially processes the distance image information in a preset direction along the stamped text character face (10A) and generates contour image information which denotes the contours of the text characters "N1" which are formed in three-dimensional shapes upon the stamped text character face (10A). A pixel value substitution processing unit (55) assigns pixel values of pixels of the contours which a contour image represents and within the contours to different pixel values from pixel values outside the contours on the basis of the contour image information. It is thus possible to simply and accurately extract image information of a symbol such as a text character or a number which is formed in a three-dimensional shape in an imaging subject.</p> |
