A catheter (10) includes a handle (12), a catheter sheath (14) having at least one conductor within a lumen of the catheter sheath (14), and a stylet received within the catheter sheath (14). The catheter sheath (14) is fabricated by providing a tubular member (40), forming an aperture in the wall of the tubular member at the distal part (30) of the tubular member and inserting a conductor (26) into the lumen of the tubular member. The exposed distal end of the conductor (26) is attached to an electrode (28) which is then mounted onto an external surface of the tubular member (40) to cover the aperture. The tubular member is then treated by heat to seal the electrode (28). |
