<p>Method for joining the ends of yarns and threads of thermoplastic material by welding comprises (a) placing the ends of the threads to be joined next to each other on the same direction, (b) rotating the confined threads over a length of 2-10 cm, and with a rotation of -14 strokes/cm, (c) stretching the rotated part, and (d) heating the rotated thread bundle between the stretch places over a length of 0.5-4 mm, pref. not more than 2 mm, to the melting temp. The method gives firmly bonded yarn and thread ends, can be carried out very rapidly. The connections are very uniform in quality and appearance, and are practically invisible in the finished product.</p> |
