The brewing unit (100) has a brewing piston (4), whose upper side defines a pomace area (12) during brewing process. A control lever (17) is provided for driving a piston rod (3) coupled with the brewing piston. An elastic element (18) is arranged between the drive of the control lever and the pomace area. The piston rod with its end opposite to the brewing piston is guided into a sleeve (19), where the elastic element is provided in the sleeve. The elastic element in the piston rod is formed in an area between the engagement point of the control lever on the piston rod and the brewing piston.
