1296698 Material distributors C VAN DER LELY NV 10 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 60406/69 Heading AID [Also in Division F2] A spreading implement comprises a mobile frame 1, a container 4 for material to be spread, a discharge outlet 5, a feeding member 7 located in the container, and a transmission by which the feeding member can be driven from the power take-off shaft of a tractor or other vehicle, the transmission comprising two rotatable coupling members e.g the splined ends of shafts 16, 20 with either of which a power take-off shaft can be drivingly connected, the transmission including members such as chains and sprockets interconnecting the two coupling members and the feeding member in such a way that, the transmission ratio between one of the coupling members and the feeding member 7 is dissimilar to the transmission ratio between the other coupling member and the feeding members. As shown, a transmission, casing 11 supports shaft 10 which directly drives feeding member 7 and also supports two input shafts 16, 20 to either of which a power take-off shaft may be coupled. A sprocket 13 is mounted on shaft 10 and is coupled by means of chain 14 to a smaller sprocket 15, mounted on input shaft 16. A sprocket 19, of the same size as sprocket 15, is mounted on input shaft 20 and is coupled by chain 18 to a larger sprocket 17 mounted on shaft 16. A different transmission ratio is thus provided between each input shaft and feeding member 7. Clutches may be provided to disconnect the drive between an input shaft and sprocket mounted on it in order to interrupt the driving of the feeding member. The rear ends of either of the input shafts may drive distributing member 6 by means of shaft 21. |
