PURPOSE: A user certification providing system and method are provided to prevent an invasion situation of a service which a user joins by equipment of the others, thereby preventing an information leak from a service provider. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal(100) comprises: a packet processing unit(102), a circuit processing unit(104), an SMS processing unit(103), and a user certification application unit(101). The packet processing unit processes packet data which is transmitted and received to a service server. The circuit processing unit processes a voice call received from the service server. The SMS processing unit processes an SMS received from the service server. The user certification application unit provides a user certification function by a user certification request which is transmitted from the packet processing unit, the circuit processing unit, or the SMS processing unit.
