[Also in Divisions G2-3] A partially severed copy web C supplied from a roll 21 in an electrophotographic copying machine (see Divisions G2-3), is cut into sheets of predetermined length by arresting feed rollers 23, 24 whilst continuing to drive rollers 42. Roller 23 is driven through a spring clutch by a pinion 33. When a lug 37 engages lever 38 rocked into its path by a manually actuated push bar 41 the roller 23 freewheels. The roller 23 arrested by a pawl 51 brought into engagement with a ratchet wheel 52 upon actuation of a feeler 46 by the lip 44 of a transverse cut (43), Fig. 6 (not shown). The continuing pull of rollers severs the foremost sheet (S), Fig. 5 (not shown) from the web C, Fig. 1.</p> |
