PURPOSE: A wind power generator and a control method thereof are provided to confirm a working area where an operator is existed, to perform a cooperation control for supporting the operator in the confirmed working area, thereby actively coping with danger factors possible to influence to the operator. CONSTITUTION: A wind power generator comprises a working area detecting unit and a main control unit. The working area detecting unit detects a working area where an operator is existed and generates the working area identification information. The main control unit confirms the working area of the operator based on the working area identification information received from the working area detecting unit and performs a cooperation control for supporting the operator in the confirmed working area.
