<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device capable of suppressing costs without performing any high-speed processing and achieving detection distance performance ranging from a short distance to a long distance by an antenna for both transmission and reception. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The radar device includes: the antenna for both transmission and reception; an oscillator for output of transmission waves modulated by a chopping wave; a distributor for distributing the transmission waves to first and second transmission waves; a circulator for output of the first transmission waves to the antenna for both transmission and reception and inputting reflection waves of the first transmission waves reflected by a target object; a switch for turning on and off the connection between the distributor and the circulator; a mixer for generating a beat signal by mixing the reflection waves and the second transmission waves; first and second target detection sections for detecting a target object from the beat signal; a selector switch for input of the beat signal from the mixer to one of the first and second target detection sections; and an object compositing section for compositing results of the target object detected from the first or second target detection section at selection timing of the selector switch.
