Extrusion of foam backed oblong objects

Oblong objects are produced by process which at least a surface layer and a foam, or foamable layer are coaxially extruded simultaneously. The foam is formed mainly from thermoplastic polyterephthalic acid esters, particularly polyethylene terephthalate. The surface layer consists, at least 50% by wt., of thermoplastic polyterephthalic acid esters, particularly polyethylene terephthalate, specif. containing approx. 30% of glass fibre. Preferably, the foam layer is from 5 - 10 times thicker than the surface layer.
