Method for transmitting synchronisation messages in a communications network

The method involves providing compensation intervals (KI) based on a set of sequential compensation time points (KP1), and implementing adaptation of delay time period (BD), based on internal clock frequency of a set of slave nodes, to reference clock frequency over change of clock counting states. The compensation intervals are divided into smaller compensation time spans (KI') based on number of another set of compensation time points (KP2). A compensated time value is determined for the delay time period and used for updating time information in synchronization messages. An independent claim is also included for a communication network.
