Temp. sensor protected by a hood of heat-resistant material is built into the tapping channel and transmits during the whole tapping period to a recorder, indicator and/or process computer. Specif. the sensor may be built into the bottom of the tapping channel. The sensor may be connected to an electronic circuit that registers the mean value of the temp. over the whole tapping period or during a definite part of it. The sensor may be a thermocouple.
