<p>The title compounds (CH2=CH-S-CH2CH2-O)n B(O R)3-n where R is 1-5C opt. substd. alkyl and n is 1,2, or 3, eg. (CH2=CH-S-CH2CH2-O)3B, made by esterifying boric acid or its anhydride with vinyl thioethanol (I), opt. with other alcohols, or by transesterifying trialkyl borates with (I) are esp. useful for fire proofing plastics and resins, e.g. a polyester contg. 3-4% ester based on total polymer wt.</p> |
